Fourth Annual Juneteenth Golf Outing Drives Support for the Saturday Leadership Academy

As members represented 100 Black Men of Delaware at the 100 Black Men of America National Conference in New York City, others were driving the mission forward closer to home at the chapter's Fourth Annual Juneteenth Golf Outing.

Held at Wild Quail Golf & Country Club in Wyoming, Del., on June 19, the event brought together golfers, sponsors, and community members for a day of golf, fellowship, food, and music, all in support of the Saturday Leadership Academy (SLA), the cornerstone mentoring program of the 100 Black Men of Delaware.

The annual event raises funds that help provide young men with mentorship, leadership development, educational programming, and life-changing opportunities. As the event continues to grow, so does the chapter's ability to invest in the next generation of leaders.

"Each year we build on the success of the previous outing," said Frankie Hill, chairman of the Juneteenth Golf Outing. "It's more than golf. It's an opportunity to bring our community together in support of our young people through fellowship, learning, and friendly competition."

This year's outing was made possible through the generous support of sponsors, including East Side Golf, Beacon Hill Staffing Group, Insight Global, The City of Wilmington, Bull Young Bourbon, and many other community partners whose commitment helps strengthen the Saturday Leadership Academy.

Reflecting on the day, Hill said the greatest reward comes from seeing the community unite around the chapter's mission.

"Hearing the excitement from golfers and seeing their enthusiasm for supporting a worthy cause reminds me why this event is so important," he said. "At the 100 Black Men of Delaware, we are building a legacy through partnership and collaboration. That is what keeps me motivated year after year."
